Eggs are a versatile food and ideal for easy recipes.

Hands On Time: 30 seconds

Hands Off Time: 4 minutes

You'll need:

  • 2 eggs beaten
  • s, p,
  • 1/4 c shredded cheese

Equipment: 2 dinner plates and a microwave oven

Beat the eggs with seasoning to suit your taste.

Lightly grease a shallow hollowed dinner plate. Spray with oil or use a paper towel to rub some oil or butter over the plate.

Pour the eggs into the dinner plate. I hope you've selected a dinner plate that has a shallow hollow, to hold the beaten eggs.

Sprinkle over evenly, the shredded cheese

Upturn the second dish over the first, or use a microwave safe cover.

Cook on high for 3 minutes. Allow to stand for a minute.

Remove the lid and voila! You have a beautifully cooked cheese omelette which is incredibly easy to make. If the center is still runny, cook  a little longer ,but only do so seconds at a time so that it is not overcooked.

Run a blunt knife gently under the omelette to lift it off the plate.

Roll up the cheese omelette.

Garnish with chopped tomatoes and parsley.

Tips from Easy recipes

Don't be tempted to add more cheese as the melted cheese makes the center of the microwaved cheese omelette runny and more difficult to cook evenly.

Always cover food while cooking in the microwave oven so as to reduce splatter that may occur while cooking. Eggs especially are prone to exploding.  I simply will not use plastic ware at anytime when cooking with microwaves so I substitute with crockery and use plates as covers.

Remember, easy recipes are just as tasty and yummy as recipes you spend hours slaving over. But we believe in efficiency in the kitchen as you would in the office.
