Homemade Pancakes Recipe

Here's the homemade pancakes recipe. You'll find pancakes are so very easy to make, that once you've learned to make your own pancakes, you won't ever buy store bought pancake mixes again!

Homemade Pancakes Recipe

This recipe makes 8 - 10 servings.

Just Add Prepare
• 1 cup self raising flour

• 1 egg, beaten

• 1/2 pint milk

• pinch of salt

• Into a large mixing bowl, add flour and salt.

• Add the beaten egg. Mix well

• Add the milk a little at a time and keep stirring till there are no lumps.

• Add the rest of the milk. Mix well.

• The mixture thickens as you wait. Some people like to leave it for 1/2 hour or so to thicken up.

Cook
• Add a little butter to the fry pan. Run it around the pan so that the fat covers the pan.

• Pour a ladle of pancake batter into the fry pan. If you like your pancakes thinner, add less batter

• Cook on moderate heat, till brown on the underside and bubbly on the top

• Flip over the pancake and cook the other side till lightly browned.

Make a stack of pancakes.

Serve with butter, honey, syrup, brown sugar and lemon juice or golden syrup.

Tip

If you have surplus pancake mix, just leave it covered in the refrigerator.

If the batter seems too thick as it "matures", just add more milk and combine well.
