Easy No Yeast Homemade Breads

Here it is, the recipe for the most popular bread at our home. The family love eating this homemade bread and I love making it as it takes no time at all.

Cheese and Olive
Savory Loaf

The recipe makes one loaf tin sized, savory bread.  To make 2 savory loaves, just double the proportions.

You'll need:
• 3 oz/80 gm butter

• 2 cups self raising flour

• 1 tblspn sugar

• 1 tspn salt

Turn on oven to preheat - 390F/200C

Rub the butter into the flour

• Put all the ingredients into a large mixing bowl. I use a large saucepan

• Cut the butter roughly into the dry ingredients with a butter knife. Keep cutting it into the flour till it is in small bits

• Use your fingers and rub the butter into the flour. It will look like yellowy breadcrumbs

Toss in the rest

• 2 1/2 cups shredded tasty cheese

• 1 cup semi-dried tomatoes or capsicums, cut roughly

• 1/2 cup pitted black olives, cut roughly

• 1 cup milk

• 1 egg, beaten

• 1 cup ham, diced (optional)

• Mix the ingredients into the flour mixture and lastly the egg and milk

• Combine well till it becomes a soft dough

• Spoon the dough into a silicone loaf tin

Add Topping, then Bake
• 1/2 cup shredded tasty cheese

• 1/2 cup diced ham

• Put extra tasty cheese and extra ham over the top

• Bake for 35 minutes till the loaf is a lovely golden brown. Use a cake tester to check if it is cooked. It will come out clean when cooked

This homemade savory bread is ever so simple to make - there's no fussing around with yeast and as usual with our recipes, it's all mixed in one pot then into a baking tray and into the oven.

Your family and friends will love this tasty bread - it's certain to be all gone in the one sitting!

Tips For Homemade Bread Recipes

Non-stick Bakeware
As usual, use a non-stick baking tray to save time so you don't have to line and grease your bakeware.

How To Rub In Butter Into Flour
Rubbing in butter into flour is easy if the butter is firstly cut into the flour with a blunt knife. Keep cutting the butter pieces until it's in small bits. Only then rub in the small pieces of butter with your fingers till it resembles bread crumbs.

Use Kitchen Scissors
Use kitchen scissors instead of a knife when cutting up roughly. It is so much faster.

Always Allow To Cool
Your baked goodies slice so much firmer when it has cooled. So, allow to rest, then cool before slicing this homemade bread.

For A Tastier Result
Adding ham makes your bread richer and much tastier.
