Step By Step Photo Tutorial
For our easy banana cake recipes

Step 1: Combine the oil and sugar in a roomy bowl.

This recipe uses a little less oil/butter than usual as it's rich enough with all that chocolate, so you'll fine that the mixture will be a little thick, but it's OK.

Step 2 : Add beaten eggs and mix till well blended. See how the mixture becomes quite runny and smooth.

Step 3: In the meantime you'll have mushed up the bananas roughly with a fork and add them to the mixture

See how the banana pieces are in chunky bits. That's the way you want them as it gives the cake texture.

Break up the block of chocolate into large chunks just like this. Don't be precious about it.

You want this to be a rich decadent cake.

Throw in the chocolate into the mixture with the mushed chunky banana pieces and mix it in

Step 4 : Add in all the flour at once then use a flat wooden spoon or a cake spatula ( if you have one) to fold in the flour.

The mixture is ready when there are no longer lumps. See how it looks in the photo?  The batter is smooth and thick but still runny.

Then, pour batter into non-stick bake ware.

Place it it in the center of the oven for the requisite time.

Yummy!

To test if the banana cake is ready, insert a skewer or cake tester in to the center of the cake. It's ready when it comes out clean.

Allow to cool on a wire rack.

Here you are...a lovely, moist banana cake with wickedly large chunks of chocolate.

Enjoy this decadent cake!

Easy Recipes Tips
For Easy Banana Cake Recipes

  • Use a non-stick bake ware to eliminate the step of greasing and lining your baking tins

  •  Mash bananas roughly so that there will be chunks of banana through the cake

  • Really, cakes don't have to be fussy and you do not require a cake mixer to create a yummy treat. As with all our easy recipes, all that is required is a wooden spoon and a large bowl - I use a large saucepan as my mixing bowl :)

  • There is no need to be precious about the creaming of butter and sugar. For all our recipes, all that's necessary is to melt the butter or just use oil and then combine the sugar with the oil or melted butter. Then, proceed with adding the remainder of the ingredients. Admittedly, this does procedure does not produce light and airy cakes and is not suitable for sponge or angel cakes

  • Only ever use the best quality ingredients.  I only ever use the very best quality "eating" chocolate in my cakes and never "cooking" grade chocolate.
