Here is the simplest of easy dinner recipes for kids. It requires just 5 ingredients and seasoning. The ingredients are every day ingredients which you're likely to have in your pantry.

It will require you to supervise as the children will be cooking with hot equipment - either an electric fry pan or a large fry pan or wok on the stove.

Easy Dinner Recipes For Kids
Easy Fried Rice

This recipe makes just 2 servings.

Just Add Prepare
• 1/2 onion, diced

• 4 slices of ham, diced

• 2 cups cooked rice

• 2 eggs, beaten

• 1 cup frozen peas

• a pinch of salt and a shake of pepper to taste, 1/2 tpn sugar, 1 tbsp soy sauce

EQUIPMENT - Electric Fry Pan or Large Fry pan

• Turn the electric frypan to moderately high heat. Toss in diced onion and ham. Fry till the onion is soft

• Move the mixture to the edges of the pan

• Pour in the beaten eggs and leave it to firm up. Don't stir it

• When the egg has firmed, stir it gently to combine with the ham and onion. It will look like scrambled eggs.

• Add cooked rice and peas.

• Combine and add seasoning.

• Cover with lid and warm through till the peas are cooked.

Now, how easy was that!

This makes a hearty, tasty and filling meal that the children can prepare for themselves.


Use non-stick cook ware so as to reduce the use of cooking oil in your meals.

This meal needs to be stirred around so, it will need a "roomy" pan like an electric fry pan or wok or large skillet.
